The SAF/AQXP Strategic Change Management (SCM) team has released Modernization Process Model (MPM) Version 26.07.21, continuing its commitment to providing the acquisition workforce with timely, authoritative, and integrated process guidance. This release incorporates recent Department of the Air Force organizational changes, expands the Software Acquisition Pathway, and updates key acquisition references to ensure practitioners have access to the latest policy, guidance, and process information.
Supporting the Transition from PEO to PAE
To align with the Department of the Air Force’s transition from Program Executive Officers (PEOs) to Portfolio Acquisition Executives (PAEs), the MPM has been comprehensively updated throughout the model. Changes include process names, descriptions, performers, owners, inputs and outputs, specialized views, diagrams, and user guidance to reflect the new organizational construct.
In addition, the DAF Memorandum for the Transition of Air Force PEOs to PAEs has been added to the MPM Reference Library, providing users with direct access to the Department’s latest guidance supporting this organizational transformation.
Updated Reference Library
This release also refreshes several key references to ensure users have access to the latest authoritative guidance:
- DAF Memorandum for the Transition of Air Force PEOs to PAEs
- OUSW (R&E) Director of Warfare Cyber Developmental Test and Evaluation Guidebook, Version 3.1
- R-DFARS Part 252.215.7993 Proposal Adequacy Checklist
Together, these updates help keep the MPM aligned with evolving Department of the Air Force and Department of War acquisition guidance while providing acquisition professionals with current references directly within the process model.
The MPM continues to evolve alongside changes in acquisition policy, organizational structure, and best practices, ensuring the acquisition workforce has a trusted, enterprise-wide resource for executing acquisition processes consistently and effectively.
