This release contains only administrative changes that improve document quality and organization. There are no changes to the process, methodology, guidance, roles, or required activities contained within the model. Version 2026.08.05 ensures the Modernization Process Model remains current and well maintained while preserving the existing guidance.

This update ensures the MPM remains current with Department of the Air Force budget guidance and continues to provide an accurate representation of the processes, governance, and resource management activities that support modernization efforts. The Modernization Process Model (MPM) has been enhanced with the addition of 1.4.5.1.5.1 – Conduct Cyber Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and supporting subprocess 1.4.5.1.5.1.1. Aligned with the Cyber DT&E Iterative Process described in DoWM 5000.103, this new content provides a structured framework for planning, preparing, executing, evaluating, and reporting cybersecurity testing activities throughout the system lifecycle.
