The SAF/AQXP SCM Team has updated the Modernization Process Model (MPM) to version 16.6. This up incorporates recent Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Air Force (DAF) policy and regulatory changes impacting acquisition and contracting processes. The release integrates DoDM 5010.12, Acquisition and Management of Contractor-Prepared Data (21 November 2025), along with updated DFARS and DAFFARS guidance affecting Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs), acquisition planning, and congressional notification requirements. The Modernization Process Model (MPM) has been updated to version 16.5 by the SAF/AQXP SCM Team. This release aligns the model with recent Department of the Air Force (DAF) and Department of Defense (DoD) policies, guidance, and best practices. This update includes the addition of the Cyber Operational Test and Evaluation Guidebook (5 March 2025) and Implementing a Modular Open Systems Approach in DoD Programs (February 2025). It also incorporates updated versions of the Human Systems Integration Guidebook (May 2022, Change 1 June 2024) and the Technology Readiness Assessment Guidance (February 2025). This version includes updates to DoDI 8320.04 Serially Managed Items of Tangible Personal Property and Item Unique Identification Standards and the DAF PPBE System Training Program Reference Manual. DAF Modernization Process Model v16.0

The SAF/AQXP SCM Team has updated the DAF Modernization Process Model to version 16.0. This version introduces a ChatBot on the landing pages of the model. The ChatBot is programmed with information on all the processes in the MPM. Users are able to ask it questions on How a process works, Who is the owner or performer of a process, What a process is, or Where a process is found in the MPM.
