Modernization Process Model (MPM) Version 26.03.20 delivers a significant update that aligns the model with current requirements guidance and evolving processes. It replaces the legacy JCIDS construct with the Joint Force Requirements Process (JFRP), aligning the model with CJCSM 5123.01 and CJCSI 5123.01J. The update also expands and refines key process areas by introducing new processes for Joint Force Design (JFD) and Combatant Command (CCMD) Requirements Development, strengthening integration between capability design and operational needs. Modernization Process Model v26.03.06

The SAF/AQXP SCM Team updated the Modernization Process Model to include a recent change to AFI 17-101 which removed a guidance memorandum. In addition, on the landing pages, the training calendar was updated to be more user friendly and provide links to include events on personal calendars. Modernization Process Model v26.02.27

The SAF/AQXP SCM team has updated the Modernization Process Model to version 26.02.27 to ensure continued alignment with current policy and guidance. In this release, the team added the OSD Early Manufacturing Engineering Guide (July 2022) to strengthen early manufacturing and production readiness considerations within the model. The team also updated references to DAFI 32-1020, Planning and Programming Built Infrastructure Projects and DAFMAN 36-2806, Military Awards: Criteria and Procedures. These updates keep the model current and reinforce alignment across manufacturing, infrastructure, and personnel policy areas. Update to the Joint Requirements Process and Impacts to the Modernization Process Model (MPM) v 26.02.13

Recent changes to Joint-level guidance fundamentally restructure the Joint Requirements process. The updated direction eliminates JROC validation of Service- and component-level requirements and refocuses the JROC on Joint Force Development (JFD), Joint Capability Integration (JCI), and Combatant Command (CCMD) requirements. This refocusing aligns requirements more directly to Joint Operating Plans (JOPs) and is informed by Capability Portfolio Management (CPM). This shift represents a significant evolution in how requirements are reviewed, validated, and integrated at the Joint level.
